Meet Bella Popera

Performing in exclusive venues across the UK, and with their exponentially growing online presence, the acclaimed pop opera group Bella Popera consists of three young sopranos who are a crossover sensation. They sing classical. They belt rock. They wow audiences with their breathtaking set of operatic arias, chart-topping medleys and modern covers.  Having seen them perform in London, celebrity investor Deborah Meadon had little doubt that their original three-part harmonies of chart-topping hits were heavenly indeed - “Voices of Angels”.

Crossover is the name of their game.  Meaning that Bella Popera deliver classy classical arias such as Carmen’s Habanera and Delibes’s Flower Duet with style and flair.  But as the applause continues to reverberate around the performance venue they immediately take off, naturally and effortlessly, into the world of pop and rock, of Boogie Woogie or Motown – and much more besides.  Versatility is their watchword.   Belting Wrecking Ball by Miley Cyrus – but with a classical twist.   Singing Havana by Camila Cabello with innovative operatic harmonies.  The Bella Popera girls also know how to engage with audiences throughout their show – in which there is always something for everyone to enjoy.

The Bellas are girls with a goal: to build musical bridges between contrasting genres and in so doing give unexpected interpretations to your favourite songs.  The group is also rightly proud of its linguistic diversity being equally at ease performing in English, Spanish, French and Italian – perfect for premium cruising and corporate events alike.

Bella Popera are continuously building on their already exciting repertoire, determined to interact with audiences throughout their performance, and love nothing more than opera’rocking you off of your seat. No matter where in the world that might be!

Born in England, brought up in France, Julia began to pursue her passion for singing as a teenager whilst attending the United World College of the Atlantic. After completing her academic training in business at the Universities of Lancaster and Madrid, she attended the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts in London, majoring in vocals.

She successfully auditioned as a soprano for the London Symphony Chorus, with performances taking her to prestigious venues such as Manchester's Bridgewater Hall and the Royal Albert Hall in London.  Professional experience includes three years singing with premium cruise lines Celebrity and Royal Caribbean, performing as the lead vocalist of an in-house band, another contract as the vocalist of a successful acoustic duo and, latterly, fronting an Argentinian jazz band.

Graduating with a Master's degree in Music (Performance) from the University of Bristol, Hayley is a versatile singer based in London. She has enjoyed a varied performing career, with a repertoire including Baroque arias, lute song, light opera, musical theatre, and popular music.

She is currently a member of chamber groups Rosafresca and Baroque & Beyond, exploring both early and contemporary repertoire. She has performed in a variety of musicals, cabarets, and contemporary operas, and is an alumnus of Bath Camerata.

She loves new projects and challenges, a particular favorite being a role in the premiere of contemporary ‘tarot card opera’ Arcana with Little Room Productions.

Originally from Glossop, Derbyshire, Amy’s passion for musical theatre led her to complete a performing arts course in Manchester, whilst simultaneously training in classical singing.

She then moved to London to complete her training at The Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts, where she extended her musical theatre skills.   Following this, she studied at the Guildford School of Acting graduating with a BA (Hons) in Theatre.

Amy made her professional debut at The Other Masterclass, working with West End and Broadway star Rachel Tucker.
